Wow my blog is BORING

sorry to whoever is reading but wow I didn't realize my blog would be so boring. Our life has been pretty mundane the last couple of weeks adjusting to Matt being gone. The kids have been doing really well but I think summer has made them completely bored. There friends are still in Vietnam so I think they are getting a little tired of playing with me! There is only so many times Aislinn and I can play dentist before she is sick of it :)

Today we met Aisy's teacher. She seems really nice but I am thinking she might be a little tough. She was super organized which my OCD can definitely appreciate! She seems to have a lot of boys in her class but there were some little girls too. I am pretty sure she will make friends quickly. Tomorrow we meet Garrett's teacher. I wonder if she knows what she is in for :) I am curious to see what she is like and I hope Garrett and the teacher click...otherwise there could be issues. Took the kids to get haircuts and a few groceries. Things here have been just pretty slow. I haven't felt like I have really had much to update. Looking forward to school starting and seeing my therapist again on Monday! I will post pics on Monday so everyone can see the kids before they are off for their first day! Till next time!

Rainy, Lazy Sunday

Garrett waking up at 4am kinda put a bit of a damper on the productive day I had planned! I was able to clean out Aislinn's closet again (she is in an obvious growth spurt!) and do some laundry but the kids and I spent a pretty lazy Sunday here in Florida. It has pretty much rained all day which is an issues for Molly since she doesn't like the rain and an issue with Garrett since he feels it necessary to give me up to the minute weather reports! The kids have adjusted pretty well to Matt being gone and have done well overall. Sleeping times have been a challenge and your normal everyday sibling bickering but overall I am pleased as to how well it has gone. I went to download some pictures for this blog entry but I can't find the camera cord so those will have to wait! Not much planned for the upcoming week other than some housework and to finish up the school supply lists! Aislinn is eager for school to start and Garrett....well he is just Garrett! We also are going to check out the local YMCA since we are thinking about joining! Until next time!

Reality is setting in...

Well we are in Florida and Matt left for Korea on Monday. The kids are I are settling into a routine here at home. Garrett is still waking up insanely early so I am relying on a lot of coffee to get me through the mornings! The kids seem to be adjusting to daddy being gone. Garrett still has occasional outbursts of crying saying "he misses daddy" overall though I would say things are running fairly smooth! Aislinn's school called last night with a date and time for us to meet her teacher and drop off her school supplies! She is really excited about this so after payday the kids and I will get our lists and make sure we get all the supplies! Garrett is less than thrilled about the idea of going back to school :) But he does like the idea of buying school supplies. I think anything that requires a trip to Target and the opportunity to walk through the toy section makes him happy.

The kids have been a little bored since their friends are in Vietnam but have been playing together pretty nicely so I can't complain! Molly seems a little lost without Matt here but I am sure she will adjust as well. So far so good! I will post some pics later on. I have a couple of cute ones from the morning Matt left. We took the kids to a surprise 300am visit to the Waffle House where I found a giant long black coarse hair in my waffle. I should start a blog about all the things I have found in my food while eating out. It is kind of unbelievable. Once I find the camera cord I will post some pictures!
