Running, I love you.

Okay this is week 5 of couch to 5 k and it is my favorite week so far! When I started this I would never in a million years think I could run for 8 minutes without stopping to walk!

Brisk five-minute warm up walk, then:
  • Jog 3/4 mile (or 8 minutes)
  • Walk 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
  • Jog 3/4 mile (or 8 minutes)
Friday will be running for 20 minutes NO WALKING! I am totally stoked! I can't wait!
My new Brooks running shoes are amazing! I almost don't wanna rotate them with my other shoes because I love them so much!

I can't wait for the Double Bridge Run in February! I already have what I am gonna wear picked out. (yes I am that big of a dork!).

For those who didn't see this amazing looking cake on my face book I am so making this for Christmas dessert!

Doesn't that look AMAZING! There isn't many things better than chocolate chip cookie dough...except maybe cookie dough cake! Sign me up for a piece of that on Christmas day! Matt will be working on Christmas day so he will have to grab a piece on the 26th! If we don't eat it all!

Christmas shopping is pretty much done! Just a few little stocking stuffers and I am ready!
Now I leave you with two silly pics of A from tonight!

Happy Birthday to me!

I am repeating week 4 of Couch to 5K. I feel like my running was inconsistent last week because the week was so busy so I think I will feel stronger and more confident if I repeat it :) As long as I am ready to run the 5K the first week in February then I am good with taking it slow!

Thanks to my in laws I got an awesome pair of new Brooks Pure Project "Pure Flow" running shoes! I really love them! I wore them today and they are so light and comfortable! I also got a BIC band which is awesome at holding my nightmarish half bangs I got last time I got my haircut! (big mistake!)

Sunday was my big 37th birthday! I really feel old! We went to Destin where we ate some yummy pizza at Mellow Mushroom. It had a great spicy ranch on it and I washed it down with an ice cold Blue Moon! So so good! We did a little walking around Destin Commons (an awesome, outdoor mall) and then went for yogurt at Yogurt Mountain (self serve yogurt with all the toppings you can handle!). I had the candy cane and the gingerbread mixed with Christmas sprinkles, cookie dough and coconut!

Here is one pic we managed to get of me and Garrett. (sorry the lighting in that place was terrible!)

I love my dogs...well one of them.

My two dogs could not be any more different. Molly is a princess. Doesn't lick or jump on you. Likes to be left alone unless you wanna pet her, and then she will happily sit beside you and let you pet her till she is ready to get up and walk away. Lucy is crazy...she tries to eat crayons, and barks at empty trashcans. She will lick your face off and try to nibble on your ears. She is sweet as sugar but seems to go out of her way to make me CRAZY. A's precious stuffed giraffe Mr Longneck is now missing BOTH of his eyes. My crazy basset hound ate them off the poor little guys face! Just when I feel like she has pushed me over the edge one last time she comes up to me with her big droopy eyes and plants a big wet kiss on me. Ok...maybe I love her just a little.

Couch to 5K

Okay I am in love with running. Holy endorphins...I need them...bad. I am on week 4 of Couch to 5K. I have really been running for 6 weeks though (I repeated week 2 and week 3 because I didnt think I was ready to advance). Week 4 is awesome.
  • 5 Minute Warm up
  • Jog 3 minutes
  • Walk 90 seconds
  • Jog 5 minutes
  • Walk 2 1/2 minutes
  • Jog 3 minutes
  • Walk 90 seconds
  • Jog 5 minutes
  • Cool down
I signed me and Matt up for our first 5K. My therapist is all for it and doesnt feel like my running obsession is my eating disorder in disguise. I will admit to having some eating disorder thoughts when I think about running but I am not abusing exercise. I think there is a healthy balance I just need to keep myself there and keep going to therapy every week and be honest.

Matt and I are running the 5K version of the Double Bridge Run in Pensacola! So I will face my bridge fear head on as I run over the Pensacola Beach bridge. It sounds all great now but ask me a few days before it!

Okay it is almost time for America's Next Top Model and popcorn with A!

Blogging Take 2.

Obviously the whole blogging thing didnt work out for me last time. I think it had something to do with Matt being in Korea and me not wanting to relive my days after I got the kids all settled down for bed each night. What a long year that was. Now that it is over I think I am going to give this blogging thing another try. I have found a couple of healthy living/running/fitness blogs that I enjoy reading. I guess I think maybe I might have something interesting to say that someone might find helpful. I also think it would be a cool way to keep family and friends updated with what is going on in our lives. I doubt I will post daily. I don't wanna set up too many expectations. Especially the way things worked out last time :)
